Description
Laut alter Beschriftung handelt es sich hier wohl um eine Strandszene im belgischen Küstenort Nieuwpoort. Schon damals ein beliebter Badeort, zählt der Jachthafen heute wohl mit zu den größten Europas.
Paul Ehrenberg, der in Dresden und München an der Kunstakademie u.a. bei Heinrich von Zügel studiert, und vorwiegend im impressionistischen Stil Porträts, Stillleben und Landschaftsgemälde wie Tierbilder schuf, pflegte um die Jahrhundertwende eine enge Freundschaft mit Thomas Mann.
