Black and grey ink with watercolour on wove with watermark “J Whatman Turkey Mill 1824” (4). 1821, (1826), 1828 (2), 1829 and 1830. 22.5 x 34.7 cm to 45.8 x 35.6 cm. Monogrammed “JM” (conjoined) lower right (2), dated (5), inscribed (5) and with numerous dimensions within the depiction (1). Includes design sketches for decorations in various rooms of the Prinz-Cal-Palais, such as the “Salle à Manger” (2), “Grande Bibliothèque”, “Cabinet de Travail” and the “Grand Salon”, also a drawing of a gate with two doors.

Description

Métivier war seit 1811 Inspektor der königlichen Baukommission. Leo von Klenze (1784-1864) griff mehrfach auf seine Mitarbeit zurück und der Münchner Adel beschäftigte ihn gerne als Architekten. Enthalten sind Entwürfe für Dekorationen in verschiedenen Räumen des Prinz-Carl-Palais, u.a. “Salle à Manger” (2), “Grande Bibliothèque”, “Cabinet de Travail” und “Grand Salon”, außerdem der Aufriss eines Tores mit zwei Türen. – Leicht vergilbt (3), vereinzelt geringfügige braune Fleckchen (3). Leichte Griffknicke (5) und vereinzelt teils restaurierte Einrisschen (2) an den Rändern, ansonsten altersgemäß in guter Erhaltung.
