Description

Adolf Pirsch wurde in Gradaz in Krain, damals Teil des österreichisch-ungarischen Reiches, dem heutigen Slowenien, geboren. Er studierte Kunst an der Grazer Akademie in Antwerpen und machte 1879 seinen Abschluss. Danach ging er nach Italien, wo er ein Jahr in Venedig, Florenz und Rom verbrachte. – Hier malt er seine Frau Hanna Pirsch-Fieke (1879-1940), die, inspiriert von drei Allegorien der Künste, ein Bildnis malt. Schon früh interessierte sich Hanna Fieke für die Kunst und bewegte sich in Künstlerkreisen in Holland und im Ausland. 1912 lernte sie in London Adolf Pirsch kennen.
