Description
Unser Gemälde folgt einem Bild von Jacob van Ruisdael in der Gemäldegalerie der Akademie der bildenden Künste in Wien (Inv. Nr. GG 889), verso mit Kopisten-Stempel “Copie Gemäldegal. k. k. Akad. d bild. Kün. in Wien”. Die qualitätvolle, spätestens im 18. Jh. entstandene Kopie ist stilistisch weicher, aber formal detailgetreu und weicht in den Maßen nur geringfügig ab. Ruisdaels Vorlage wurde über die Jahrhunderte sehr wertgeschätzt: Um 1824 kopierte Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller das Gemälde.
