Description
Laut Houbraken malte van Troyen mit Vorliebe Palastruinen und phantastische unterirdische Grotten. Die alttestamentarische Begegnung von Eliezer und Rebecca an einem Quellbrunnen hat van Troyen mehrfach dargestellt, vgl. die Abbildungsnummer 0000039143 in der Datenbank des RKD, Den Haag.
