Description
Lagorios Seelandschaftsgemälde standen zu Beginn unter dem Einfluss des russischen Marinemalers Iwan Aiwasowski. Um den Aufbau eines Schiffes besser studieren zu können, ging er 1845 an Bord des Kriegsschiffes Grosjaschtschi. Später zog er für acht Jahre nach Italien. Die Bilder, die dort entstanden, brachten ihm später in Russland den Status eines Professors ein. In späteren Jahren malte er vor allem die Küsten von Finnland und Norwegen sowie Motive aus dem Russisch-Türkischen Krieg.
