Description
Der Affe bestimmt als zentrale Symbolfigur Jörg Immendorffs gesamtes Oeuvre. Er dient ihm – hier in einer besonders schönen, großen Version auf dem Steckenpferd – als Sinnbild für die Frage nach der Rolle des Künstlers in der Gesellschaft. Dabei greift Immendorff auf eine lange kunsthistorische Tradition zurück: In ihrer gotteslästerlichen Anmaßung, die Welt nachzuahmen, legen die Affen dem Künstler kritische Selbstbetrachtung nahe. – Von sehr guter Erhaltung.
