Der Löwenhof der Alhambra in Granada
Description
Possarts Gemälde zeigt den Blick aus dem Löwenhof mit dem namengebenden Brunnen in die “Sala de Abencerrajes” – den Saal der Abencerragen, einem maurischen Geschlecht, das im 8. Jahrhundert nach Granada gekommen war. Possart war mit seinen Alhambra-Ansichten sehr erfolgreich und hat auch unser Motiv in verschiedenen Versionen auf Ausstellungen gezeigt – so 1883 in Berlin und München, 1889 in Berlin und zuletzt 1890 noch einmal in Berlin.
