Description
Die Darstellung ist thematisch und kompositionell von Bildern des Philips Wouwerman inspiriert, dessen Stallinterieurs mit Reitknechten und Reitern häufig ebenfalls einen Brunnen auf der linken Seite, spielende Kinder und einen Ausblick in die Ferne zeigen. Die Details, wie die stillende Mutter und der Ausblick auf die südliche Stadt assoziieren hingegen Gemälde italianisierender Künstler, etwa von Jan Miel und Thomas Wijck.
