1963 unterstützte die Raumfahrtbehörde N.A.S.A. drei unabhängige Studien der Florida State Universität zur ökologischen und sozialen Auswirkung vom Kennedy Space Center auf verschiedene Gemeinden in Brevard County. Diese Luftaufnahme vom gesamten Areal stammt von dieser Forschungsarbeit. Anlässlich der erzielten Ergebnisse wurde das Kennedy Space Center 1965 zum ersten Mal der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht.
