Description
Vorliegende Zeichnung ist eine Studie für die beiden Kinderengel unten links im Gemälde “Die Jungfrau mit Kind in der Glorie”, Toledo Museum of Art, vgl. auch den Bozzetto zum Gemälde in: The Art Museum, Princeton University. Nach Clark sind bislang sechs Rötelstudien auf gelb grundiertem Papier bekannt, die weitere Detailstudien enthalten. Eine davon befindet sich in der National Gallery of Scotland, eine weitere in der Witt Collection, Courtauld Institute Galleries, London. Zwischenzeitlich wurde ein weiteres Blatt bei Christie’s, Paris, am 29.3.12, Los 24, versteigert. Den Aufbewahrungsort der übrigen Studien kennt man derzeit nicht. – Kleine Randmängel, daher alt auf Bütten aufgelegt. Von schöner Erhaltung.
