Description
Laut Prasse bevorzugte Feininger für seine Künstlerdrucke (Probeabzüge) dünne Japanpapiere. In den Jahren 1918-20 setzt sich Feininger vermehrt mit dem Holzschnitt auseinander und zeigt in feinster graziler Ausführung sein Können. Der Holzschnitt entstand 1919, als Gropius Feininger als Leiter der graphischen Werkstatt ans Staatliche Bauhaus in Weimar rief. – Kaum merklich knittrig. Montage am Oberrand recto leicht durchschlagend. Ingesamt in sehr guter Erhaltung.
