Description

Dieser kleine sitzende Löwe war ursprünglich Teil der Dreiergruppe “Drei kleine Löwen” (Gabler 43). Das Werk ist eng verwandt mit der doppelt so großen Bronzearbeit eines jungen Löwen, auch Dusselchen genannt (Gabler 41), eine der beliebtesten Arbeiten Gauls. Laut Gabler sind nur vier Verkäufe in der Galerie Cassirer zwischen 1904 und 1905 belegt. Es gibt vermutlich keine Neugüsse. In sehr gutem Zustand.
