Mit einer schriftlichen Echtheitsbestätigung von Sally Jarman, der Nichte und Nachlassverwalterin der Künstlerin, vom 2.7.1994. Sally Jarman weist darauf hin, dass das Werk im unveröffentlichten Werkverzeichnis, erstellt durch Paule Vézelay selbst, enthalten ist.

Description
Nach ihrer künstlerischen Ausbildung in London zog Marjorie Watson-Williams 1926 nach Paris. Dort nahm sie den Namen “Paule Vézelay” an, malte bald ausschließlich abstrakt und wurde 1934 Mitglied der Gruppe “Abstraction-Création”. Eine enge Freundschaft verband sie mit Hans Arp und seiner Frau. Im vorliegenden Bild ist ihre Auseinandersetzung mit dessen Werk deutlich spürbar: Wie vom Wind bewegt schweben zwei Formen in einem gläsernen, perspektivisch nicht fassbaren Raum, dessen Umrisse selbst eine tänzerische Leichtigkeit haben. – Sehr gut erhalten.
