Description
Charakteristisch für die Lithographien aus Dix’ Spätwerk ist der Reichtum an Farben. Auch “Katze und Hahn” zeichnet sich durch fein nuancierte Farbwerte und besondere Leuchtkraft aus. Der hellblaue Hintergrund verleiht der Komposition einen luftigen Grundton, der stolze Hahn in kräftigem Rot über Orangerot bis hin zu einem hellen Gelbwert dominiert die rechte Bildhälfte. Gegenüber sitzt die getigerte Katze im Baum, zum Sprung bereit. – Im Randbereich minimale Grifffältchen, sonst farbfrisch und sehr gut erhalten.
