Description

Hier wird wieder der Einfluss der japanischen Kunst auf Orliks Werk sichtbar: Er setzt die beiden Blumentöpfe mit den kräftigen Blättern vor einen neutralen Hintergrund und malt sie ohne Schattenwurf und somit ohne erkennbare Lichtquelle, wie in der japanischen Ukiyo-e-Kunst üblich. Dabei streut er einzelne, rosafarbene Blüten, die an japanische Kirschblüten erinnern, auf die graue Bank und setzt so farbliche Akzente. – Zwei kleine Beschädigungen der Leinwand, fachmännisch retuschiert und verso verstärkt, sonst in gutem Originalzustand.
