Zahlreiche österreichische Künstler wie Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller oder Leopold Munsch inspirierte der kleine Ort am Hallstättersee durch seine malerische Lage und die für das Salzkammergut typischen Steinbauten. Das dargestellte Haus wurde zur Erinnerung an Kaiser Franz I. restauriert und beherbergt heute das Alte Museum von Hallstatt. – Etwas unfrisch und mit teils winzigen Farbabplatzungen.
