Three bathing Youths. Reed pen on thin paper from a sketch-pad. (C. 1923). C. 33 : 28 cm. Signed with the monogram lower right. Framed. The work will be included in the catalogue raisonné of drawings currently being prepared by Karl Bernhard Wohlert under the no. 554.
Description
Die Arbeit wird in das in Vorbereitung befindliche Werkverzeichnis der Zeichnungen Hofers von Karl Bernhard Wohlert unter der Nummer 554 aufgenommen.
Die Zeichnung diente als direkte Vorlage für die gleichnamige Lithographie (Rathenau L 66). Für die endgültige Fassung sind nur minimale Veränderungen vorgenommen worden. – Mit mehreren Deckweißkorrekturen. Im Rand mit einigen gut restaurierten Fehlstellen bzw. Papierausdünnungen sowie einem kurzen Einriss am oberen Rand, dort auch lichtrandig. Minimal stockfleckig, sonst in gutem Zustand.
