Upper class. Pen and ink over pencil on wove. 1928. C. 59.5 : 46.5 cm. Signed, dated “1928 Berlin”, inscribed with the title and with “46” lower left. With the estate stamp and the number “3-106-7” on the reverse. Framed. With a written expertise by Ralph Jentsch, Rom/New York, dated 15.10.2008.

Mit einer schriftlichen Echtheitsbestätigung von Ralph Jentsch, Rom/New York, vom 15.10.2008. Die Arbeit wird in das in Vorbereitung befindliche Werkverzeichnis der Arbeiten auf Papier von George Grosz aufgenommen.
Die Attitüden der neureichen Berliner Gesellschaft, die selbst für einen kurzen Einkauf standesgemäß den Wagen mit Chauffeur benutzte, hatte George Grosz stets besonders gern aufs Korn genommen. – Eine schwache diagonale Falte in der oberen Bildhälfte. Ein kleiner Einriss in der rechten unteren Ecke und winzige Fehlstellen an der unteren Blattkante und an der rechten oberen Ecke.
