Ágnes Szépfalvis wichtigste Inspirationsquellen sind Fotografie und Film. In ihren fotorealistisch anmutenden Arbeiten zeigt sich die tiefe Verwurzelung mit dem Medium der Malerei. Die dargestellten Szenen sind charakteristische Momentaufnahmen von beeindruckender Ausdruckskraft. Thematischer Schwerpunkt und immer wiederkehrendes Motiv in ihren Bildern sind die unterschiedlichen, traditionell verankerten Rollen der Frau.
