Symbol of a cow (I). Bronze with brown patina. (1942). C. 3.5 : 8.5 : 2.5 cm. Stamped on the underside with the artist’s mark (incised monogram). One of only two known casts (Schilling).

Aus der Reihe kleiner Skulpturen abstrahierter Kühe und Kälbchen, an denen Mataré zu Beginn der 1940er Jahre arbeitete. Die Oberfläche glatt und unziseliert. Die Patina an der Unterseite minimal ungleichmäßig, sonst gut.
Einer von nur zwei bei Schilling genannten Güssen.
