Description
Fein beobachtete, flüssig gezeichnete Studie, in der Grosz auf jede Polemik oder karikierende Überzeichnung verzichtet. In den Jahren 1923 und 1924 fertigte er eine Reihe von Porträts der Armen und Arbeitslosen an, die er in der Nähe seines Ateliers auf der Straße kennengelernt hatte: “Ich halte die Zeichnung für ein gutes Instrument im Kampf gegen das heutige Mittelalter.” (G. Grosz, in: A. Dückers, “George Grosz: Das druckgraphische Werk”, Frankfurt 1979, S. 8). Mit leichten Knickspuren. An der linken Kante mit ca. 1,5 cm langem Riss; dicht unterhalb der oberen Kante mit ca. 2 cm langem horizontalem Schlitz, ansonsten in gutem Zustand.
