Description
Malerisch durchgestalteter, flüssiger Entwurf für ein Altarbild, links mit Maßangaben für die Übertragung. Früher Domenico Piola, dem Vater Paolo Gerolamos, zugeschrieben, weisen die Initialen doch eher auf den Sohn hin, der dem Vater stilistisch sehr nahe stand.
Alt auf Papier aufgezogen, dort mit Einfassungslinien und Eckverzierungen, dieses nochmals auf blaugraues Bütten aufgelegt. Am rechten Rand mit Bleistift “piola” bezeichnet. Horizontale Mittelfalte sowie zwei horizontale Falten am oberen Rand geglättet. Leicht fleckig (Atelierspuren). Von schönem Gesamteindruck.
