Dargestellt ist mit sicherem Strich eine Teilansicht des ehemaligen Hafens am Kap Miseno bei Bajae. Der Künstler hielt sich längere Zeit im Sommer 1826 am Golf von Neapel auf. Dabei entstanden zahlreiche, sehr bildnismäßig ausgeführte Zeichnungen, die wohl als Vorlagen für spätere Gemälde gedacht waren.
Schwach fleckig, mit zwei geglätteten Knickfalten und winzigem Rostfleck. Ränder gering gebräunt, mit Knickspuren und winzigen Einrissen.
