Das Motiv des Holzschnitts geht auf Eindrücke und vermutlich auch Skizzen der Südseereise zurück, die Pechstein vor dem Ersten Weltkrieg unternommen hatte. Fechter und Krüger geben die Entstehungszeit der Graphik (abweichend) mit 1918 an. Eines von wenigen Exemplaren. In sehr guter Erhaltung. Die Blattecken teils minimal knittrig. Am Unterrand ein winziger Einriss.
