Striding woman. Bronze with a golden brown patina. (1926). Height c. 49.5 cm. Signed with the monogram on the plinth. On the reverse of the plinth with foundry stamp “HNOACK BERLIN”.
An important sculpture from the period when Kolbe had developped his unique style, showing his favourite model at the time in a dynamic pose.
Description
Wichtige Skulptur des Künstlers aus der Schaffensperiode, in der er zu seinem unverwechselbaren Stil gefunden hatte. Wie für viele Arbeiten aus dieser Zeit stand ihm dafür Hanna Weber Modell, deren schlanke Beweglichkeit er hier beispielhaft festhält: Die Beine gegrätscht und die Füße fest am Boden verankert, hat sie scheinbar Mühe, sich nicht vom Schwung der Drehung des Oberkörpers fortreißen zu lassen.
