Sitting girl to the left. Pencil on cream-coloured wove. (C.1912/14). C. 56.5 : 37 cm. Mäda Primavesi was the daughter of the banker and industrialist Otto Primavesi, one of the financial backers of the Wiener Werkstätte, and the actress Eugenia Primavesi (née Butschek). A series of preliminary pencil sketches show that as the composition evolved the artist experimented with alternative poses.

Ausdrucksvolle, in kurzen Pinselstrichen modulierte Studie für das Bildnis der neunzehnjährigen Mäda Primavesi, das Klimt 1913 schuf. Mäda war die Tochter des Industriellen Otto Primavesi, eines Financiers der Wiener Werkstätten, und der Schauspielerin Eugenia Primavesi (geborene Butschek). Die bei Strobl verzeichneten elf Studien belegen, dass Klimt vielfach verschiedene Posen ausprobierte. Er stellte sie stehend, auf einem Stuhl sitzend oder im Profil dar, bis er sich letztlich entschloss, Mäda Primavesi frontal und stehend wiederzugeben. Das Ölgemälde hängt heute im Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Im linken Rand mit einem Wasserfleck und in den Ecken leicht knitterfaltig. Im unteren Rand mit einem winzigen Braun- und Rotfleck. Von gutem Gesamteindruck.
