Description
Derain hat dem Thema “Nymphen” bzw. “Badende in der Landschaft” in den Jahren 1942-50 eine umfangreiche Serie von Gemälden gewidmet (vgl. Kellermann 2083-2167). Die Thematik gehört im weiteren Sinn in den Umkreis des “Aufbruchs nach Kythera”. Am Unterrand von fremder Hand hs. betitelt. Farbfrisch und insgesamt in sehr gutem Zustand. Die breiten Blattränder ca. 4 cm breit nach hinten umgeschlagen. Sehr vereinzelt winzige Stockfleckchen.
