Description

Georg Muche war ab 1963 Ehrengast der Villa Massimo in Rom, während dieser Zeit hat er den nahegelegenen Nemisee, an dem einst das Heiligtum der Diana von Ariccia lag, kennengelernt und in zahlreichen Zeichnungen festgehalten. In diesen Jahren begann auch seine intensive Beschäftigung mit der Computergraphik, woraus Ende 1965 die ersten “Variographien” hervorgingen: “Nemisee – Auge der Diana”. Es sind Variationen über ein Thema. Aber welches ist eigentlich das Thema? Roethel fragt: Ist es der See, das Auge, das Oval? Ist es der Fisch, das Gestirn, der Kratersee oder die Geburt des Kreises. Handelt es sich um eine Vision der Entstehung der Welt, um ein Arsenal der Schöpfung, um eine Kosmogonie der Gestirne? Es ist dies alles zugleich. Sehr selten! Die Graphiken in perfektem Zustand.
