Flüssige, spontan gesetzte Zeichnung, die Alice Strobl in den Kontext zum 1907/8 entstandenen Gemälde “Danae” setzt. Wie die bei Strobl veröffentlichte Folge von fünf Zeichnungen zur “Danae” deutlich macht, ließ Klimt das Modell aus der sitzenden Position verschiedene kauernde und gestreckte Posen einnehmen, bevor er sich für die Version entschied, in der das weit zurückgelehnte Modell ein Bein zum Körper zieht (Strobl 3514). Das vorliegende Blatt gehört mit seinen ornamental geschwungenen Linien zu den schönsten der Serie. – Im Passepartoutausschnitt leicht gebräunt. Verso am Oberrand mit Spuren von alter Montage, sonst sehr schön.
