Trübner began painting in the naturalistic style from 1877 onwards. Here, the skin colour reflects and incorporates the shades of green of the surrounding wood, thus reducing the contrast between the body and the natural setting. Instead, the figure in its natural naked state seems to blend into the nature around it.

In breitem, lebendigem Pinselstrich dargestellter Rückenakt in Ganzfigur, der in einem Wald links neben einem Baum steht. Im Inkarnat finden sich die Grüntöne des Waldes wieder, wodurch sich der Kontrast der Haut zu der Umgebung reduziert und der Akt harmonisch in seine Umwelt eingebunden wird. 1877 begann Trübner in naturalistischer Manier zu malen. Zu den Künstlerkollegen, mit denen er sich in den 1880er Jahren besonders eng austauschte, zählte neben Hans Thoma vor allem Lovis Corinth, Max Slevogt und Max Liebermann. Mit einem kleinen Farbverlust an der linken Schulter, ansonsten in gutem Zustand.
