Description

Naturalistischen Darstellung, die für die Epoche des Künstlers typisch ist. In leicht pastosem Pinsel, und einer sorgfältigen Behandlung des Inkarnats, zeigt der Künstler das bekannte Motiv der Venus. Seit der Malerei der Renaissance erhielt die mythologische Venus neben Eva entscheidende Bedeutung als Vorlage für die Aktmalerei von Frauenkörpern. Der Akt gehörte zu Greiners Beliebtesten Sujets und stand neben Themen aus der Antike, Portraits und einem Zyklus “Über die Frauen” im Mittelpunkt seines Interesses. Rückseitig in schwarzer Feder von der Witwe bestätigt: “Dipinto da Otto Greiner in fede Nannina Greiner”. Im oberen Rand mit winzigen Austupfern, ansonsten in gutem Zustand.
