The generous brush strokes dominating Winter’s works at the beginning of the 1950s can still be felt in this work, if in a somewhat altered form. Winter now develops a force field of opposite and complementary shapes which interact to form the actual statement of the work.

Subtile, stark bewegte dynamische Arbeit, in teils sattem, pastosem Strich ausgeführt. Der gestische Schwung, der Winters Arbeiten zu Beginn der fünfziger Jahre beherrscht, ist auch noch in dieser Arbeit wahrzunehmen, wenn auch in veränderter Form. Winter entwickelt ein Kräftefeld gegensätzlicher und sich ergänzender Formen. Ihr Wechselspiel zueinander ist die eigentliche Bildaussage. Sie ist in vielen Fällen dramatisch, ganz im Sinne einer Gestik und auch inhaltlich betont, wie die vielen assoziativen Bildtitel belegen. Verso nochmals signiert und betitelt. Im Grauton gleichmäßig minimal aufgehellt, ansonsten in sehr gutem Zustand.
